COVID 19

Our Shop

Our shop and office in Marseille is open during our normal opening hours and you can continue to order online, and to contact us for information or to order by email or by telephone. We are also continuing to process and send online, email and telephone orders.  Our "retrait en magasin" click-and-collect service is also operating as a Drive service from our private car park. Please contact us for more information. 

Deliveries

Regarding deliveries, the restrictions and conditions introduced by the French Post Office during the COVID 19 crisis, which affected both domestic and international shipments of orders, were lifted on Monday 29th June 2020, and a normal delivery service was resumed.  However, please note the following:-

1. All Deliveries

  • You are required to provide us with a telephone number (mobile or landline). This number will be provided to Colissimo to facilitate the delivery of your order.  Your personal details will only be used by Colissimo to facilitate the delivery of your order and they will not be kept on file by The French Post Office.
  • Colissimo are not able to guarantee their normal delivery times, although delays are now minimal.  The November 2020 lockdown may result in additional delays. 
  • We advise you to use the online French Post Office tracking service (available in a number of languages) to avoid any delays. When your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with the link to the tracking site of The French Post Office. 

2. Domestic (France only)

All deliveries are now made without any contact with the delivery driver. The French Post Office has adapted its procedures to enable this to happen:-

  • The proof of delivery certificate will either be a photo taken by the driver of the customer's signature on the package, or a mention "C19" will be marked by the delivery driver on their scanning terminal in place of the recipient's signature.
  • The French Post Office are testing a new system in France using a 6-digit confidential code and QR code, sent to you by email before the delivery is made. The delivery driver will place the package in front of the customer respecting social distancing guidelines, and will ask for the 6-digit code. The delivery driver will then scan the QR code from your email with their scanning terminal or enter your 6-digit code; a digital signature will then be generated by the terminal as proof of delivery and the customer will be able to pick up the package.

3. International

Restrictions and procedures may still be imposed by the delivery service in your country, which we are unable to verify.

2. ORDERING POLICY

i. You can place an order online by opening an account with Kit Miniatures. Details about opening an account can be found in the section How to Order of the Help Centre. 

ii. You can also place an order by telephone or by email.  Details about telephone and email ordering can also be found in the section How to Order.

iii. For those kits and models marked 'Out of Stock', please use our Contact Form, or telephone us for further details about availability. 

iv. All orders will be processed and dispatched within three (3) working days from the day following receipt of the payment for the completed order by Kit Miniatures.  Pre-orders will be processed and dispatched on when the article(s) is available and the final payment received by Kit Miniatures. 

v. Kit Miniatures reserves the right to suspend any order and any delivery in the event of the non0authorisation of the payment by bank card or other means.  You will be notified by Kit Miniatures in the event of an order being suspended. 

vi. Kit Miniatures reserves te right to refuse an order from a customer who has not fully paid for a previous order, or against whom Kit Miniatures has issued court proceedings for the recovery of goods or payment.  You will be notified by Kit Miniatures in the event of an order being refused. 

vii. Pre-orders

a) For those kits and models marked ‘Pre-order' in the 'Coming Soon' section of our website, a 10% reduction off the total price (excluding shipping) will be made on receipt of a firm pre-order and the payment of a reservation fee of 50% of the reduced price.

b) Customers with an online customer Account can place a pre-order online and pay the reservation fee via our website. 

c) Customers with or without an online Account can also place a pre-order by telephone or by email.  You can contact us using our Contact Form or by letter post, or you can telephone us. Our contact information can be found in Section 1. "Who are We" of these Terms and Conditions.  

d) Please go to the Payment Options section of the Help Centre for information about how to pay the reservation fee.  

e) Cancellation of a Pre-order:

i.  If you decide to cancel your pre-order, then your reservation fee will NOT be refunded.

ii. If Kit Miniatures decides to cancel your pre-order, then your reservation fee will be refunded in full by the same means that the payment of the reservation fee was received by Kit Miniatures. 

f) Final sums due on a Pre-order:

i.  You will be contacted by Kit Miniatures when your pre-order is available with information about how to finalise your pre0order and how to pay the final sums due. 

ii. The final sums due are the remaining 50% of the reduced price of the kit or model plus any shipping costs. 

iii. All outstanding payments must be received within seven (7) working days.

g) Completed pre-orders will be dispatched within three (3) working days from the day following receipt of the final payment (the final sums due) for the completed order by Kit Miniatures.

3. PAYMENT POLICY

i. All payment transactions are in Euros without exception.

ii. Prices on our website include French VAT at the current rate of 20%.

iii. Prices on our website are displayed without VAT for those customers who have created a Customer Account on our website, have logged into their Account, and registered and selected a shipping address outside the European Union. 

iv. More details about the payment options we offer can be found in the Payment Options section of the Help Centre.  They form part of these Terms and Conditions.  

Online Orders

We accept online orders from customers who have created an online Customer Account.  Please see our Ordering Policy above for more information about creating an Account. 

Subject to your location and your registered billing address, you have the choice of the following payment options. 

  • Credit Card
  • PayPal
  • Bank Transfer (Eurozone only)
  • Cheque (France only)

The available payment options for your location and billing address will be automatically displayed during the ordering process.  Not all payment options are available for every customer.  We reserve the right to require that payment must be made using the online payment system 'PayPal'. 

a). Credit Card

i. We accept VISA, Mastercard, French Carte Bleue and e.Bleue.  We do not accept American Express or Diners Club.

ii. At the end of the ordering process you will be redirected to the secure online payment system operated by our contracted third-party partner "PAYBOX by VERIFONE" and no further amendment to your order will be possible. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS WILL BE ENCRYPTED AND WE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION AT ANY STAGE OF THE PAYMENT PROCESS. 

iii. "PAYBOX by VERIFONE" is a market-leading, secure payment system recommended by our bank. With this system your credit card details will be encrypted by PAYBOX'S own security systems, and the transaction is handled directly by PAYBOX'S own secure server.  At no time is your credit card information seen by Kit Miniatures. In compliance with PCI-DSS standards, all communications and transactions with PAYBOX are encrypted and secured using the most up-to-date TLS1.2 protocol.  

iv. In compliance with European regulations, we use a 3-D Secure Payment system to authenticate certain credit card transactions. During the transaction process you may be asked by your credit card provider to confirm some additional security information before the payment will be authorised. 

v. You will receive a confirmation email from PAYBOX when the transaction is complete. 

b). PayPal

i. All PayPal payments for online orders will be handled through our secure online payment system operated by "PAYBOX by VERIFONE" in partnership with PayPal. 

ii. At the end of the ordering process you will be redirected to the PayPal website and no further amendment to your order will be possible.  If you don't have a PayPal account you will be able to open one, subject to PayPal's own terms and conditions. 

iii. To comply with PayPal's own rules, please ensure that your shipping address is the same as the delivery address that you have registered with PayPal, as we can only deliver to your PayPal delivery address. 

iv. You will receive a confirmation email from PayPal when the transaction is complete. 

c). Bank Transfer

i. Customers with a billing address in the Eurozone, i.e. in a country which has the Euro as its common currency, can pay for an order by bank transfer in Euros but only from a bank account domiciled in the Eurozone. 

ii. At the end of the ordering process you will receive a separate confirmation email with our bank details and no further amendment to your order will be possible.  

iii. Please ensure that all costs that may be charged by your bank are at your own expense only.

iv. You have seven (7) working days to send us your payment by bank transfer, during which time your order will be reserved for you. 

v. When your payment has been accepted, we shall send you an email updating the status of your order. 

d). Cheque

i. Customers with a billing address in France can pay for an order by cheque in Euros but only if drawn on a French bank account. 

ii. At the end of the ordering process you will receive a separate confirmation email with details of where to send your cheque and no further amendment to your order will be possible.  

iii. You have seven (7) working days to send us your payment by cheque, during which time your order will be reserved for you. 

iv. When your payment has been accepted, we shall send you an email updating the status of your order. 

Telephone and Email Orders

We accept telephone and email orders from customers who do not have an online Customer Account.  Please see our Ordering Policy above for more information. 

Depending on your location (your billing address), you have the choice of the following payment options.  Not all payment options are available for every customer.  Please confirm your billing address and payment choice when placing your order.  We reserve the right to require that payment must be made using the online payment system 'PayPal'.

v. Please note that we do not store credit card information given to us for telephone or email orders.  All the information will be securely destroyed once the transaction is complete. 

v. If you want to receive a receipt for your credit card payment you will need to supply us with an email address at the eime of ordering.  If you do not have an email address a receipt from PAYBOX will be attached to your delivery note and shipped with your order. 

b). PayPal

i. To pay using PayPal you need to have an account with PayPal and to supply us with your email address.

ii. A PayPal Payment Request (invoice) for the full amount of your order will be sent to your email address. 

iii. To comply with PayPal's own rules, please ensure that your shipping address is the same as the delivery address that you have registered with PayPal, as we can only deliver to your PayPal delivery address. 

iv. You will receive a confirmation email from PayPal when the transaction is complete. 

c). Bank Transfer

i. Customers with a billing address in the Eurozone, i.e. in a country which has the Euro as its common currency, can pay for an order by bank transfer in Euros but only from a bank account domiciled in the Eurozone. 

ii. If you opt to pay by bank transfer, we shall provide you with our bank details (IBAN etc.) on request following the receipt of your order.  

iii. Please ensure that all costs that may be charged by your bank are at your own expense only.

iv. Once we have confirmed our bank details, you have seven (7) working days to send us your payment by bank transfer, during which time your order will be reserved for you. 

v. When your payment has been accepted, we shall send you an email updating the status of your order if you have provided us with your email address. 

d). Cheque

i. Customers with a billing address in France can pay for an order by cheque in Euros but only if drawn on a French bank account. 

ii. Following the receipt of your order, you have seven (7) working days to send us your payment by cheque, during which time your order will be reserved for you. 

iv. When your payment has been accepted, we shall send you an email updating the status of your order if you have provided us with your email address. 

4. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION POLICY

i. Kit Miniatures dispatches all order using the 'Colissimo' parcel service provided by the French postal service, La Poste. All deliveries are insured, and a signature will be required on receipt of the delivery. 

ii. Customers with a billing address in France can also collect their order for free from our shop in Marseille at no extra charge or shipping cost. 

iii. All orders are shipped to the shipping address specified at the time of ordering.  You have the option at the time of ordering to specify a shipping address that is different from your billing address.

iv. If paying using PayPal, orders are shipped to the delivery address that you have registered with PayPal in compliance with PayPal's own rules. 

v. Delivery Charges & Times : our delivery charges and estimated delivery times can be found in Delivery and Collection section of our Help Centre, and form part of these Terms and Conditions.

vi. Any additional taxes or other charges that you may incur following the dispatch of your order will be your sole responsibility.

vii. All despatched orders are conveyed at your own risk.

viii. At the time of delivery, please check the condition of the package in the presence of the delivery person and identify any damage to the package or its contents.  If the package or its contents is damaged in any way, the delivery should not be accepted or signed for.  

ix. If you do not accept your order due to damage, please notify us within forty-eight (48) hours, with your order number and the reason why the delivery was rejected. You may contact us either using the Contact Form, via your Customer Account, or by telephone (+33 4 91 33 72 76). 

x. If you do not receive your order within the expected delivery time, please contact us immediately either using the Contact Form, or via your Customer Account, specifying your order number, or by telephone (+33 4 91 33 72 76). 

xi. In the event of loss or damage to your delivery, any refund will only be payable by Kit Miniatures subject to formal confirmation of such loss or damage by the French postal service (Colissimo or La Poste) or its agents. 

xii. Kit Miniatures will not be responsible for the non-delivery of an order if you provide an incorrect delivery address.  

xiii. If an order is returned to us by our delivery carrier because of an incorrect delivery address, Kit Miniatures will only re-send the order at your expense.  If you choose not to pay for the order to be resent, Kit Miniatures will reimburse you for the cost of the order, less the delivery charge.

5. RETURNS POLICY

a). Right of Retraction

i. Under European Union law you have a period of fourteen (14) days starting on the day after your order is delivered to notify us that you wish to return items that you purchased, without justification.

ii. Returns after this fourteen (14) days period are subject to the conditions in section b) After Sales Service (see below). 

N.B. For those kits marked on the website as being ‘NO LONGER MANUFACTURED’, such as AMR, BBR, Provence Moulage, Le Phoenix etc. we check all kits thoroughly for any missing or faulty parts, and any anomalies are clearly marked on our website.  Therefore no return or reimbursement will be possible after the fourteen (14) day "Right of Retraction" period if the kit is incomplete.

iii. After you have notified us that you wish to return an item(s), you then have a further period of fourteen (14) days to send your return to us.

iv. (a). Online Orders - if you wish to return one or more items of your order, please go to the Order History section of your Customer Account and click on the reference of the order you wish to return. The next steps can be found in the Returns sections of the Help Centre. 

v. (b). Telephone and Email Orders - if you wish to return one or more items of your order, please contact us. You can write to us using our Contact Form or by letter post, or you can telephone us. Our contact information can be found in Section 1. "Who are We" of these Terms and Conditions. 

vi. All goods must be returned in their original condition and in their original packaging, unused and without damage.

vii. The return package should be send to the following address: Kit Miniatures, 8 chemin de Raguse, 13013 Marseille, France. 

viii. When returning your package you must ensure that it is fully insured by your postal service and that it will be signed for on receipt. 

ix. On satisfactory receipt of the returned goods by Kit Miniatures, and if all of the above conditions have been met, we shall then reimburse you for the returned goods and the original delivery costs within fourteen (14) working days.

x. The cost of returning the goods to us is at your expense.  The only exception is if an items is faulty, or if Kit Miniatures has made an error when sending you your order, in which case we shall refund your return costs on receipt of a copy of your proof of payment.

xi. The sums will be refunded by the same means that the original payment was received by Kit Miniatures. If the original payment was made by bank transfer, please ensure that you include your bank details with your return package. 

b). After-Sales Service

i. We endeavour to ensure that all kits and models are checked for decals, photo-etched and other parts, before they are dispatched, and you are advised to check the contents of your order on receipt.  

ii. However, in the exceptional case that a part, or parts, is missing or damaged, please notify us as soon as possible.  You have a period of two years (24 months) starting on the day after your order is delivered to notify us.

N.B. For those kits marked on the website as being ‘NO LONGER MANUFACTURED’, such as AMR, BBR, Provence Moulage, Le Phoenix etc. we check all kits thoroughly for any missing or faulty parts, and any anomalies are clearly marked on our website.  Therefore no return or reimbursement will be possible after the fourteen (14) day "Right of Retraction" period if the kit is incomplete.

iii. You can write to us using our Contact Form or by letter post, or you can telephone us. Our contact information can be found in Section 1. "Who are We" of these Terms and Conditions. 

iv. Please send us (where applicable) a copy of the instruction drawing showing the missing part(s) in question, together with a copy of your delivery note.  We will then endeavour to replace the part(s) in question.

v. Please note that only one such request per order can be accepted by Kit Miniatures.  

vi. If we are unable to replace or repair the part(s) in question, you may then request a full refund and return your purchase to us, in its original condition and original packaging, with a copy of the delivery note, to the following address: Kit Miniatures, 8 chemin de Raguse, 13013 Marseille, France. 

vii. When returning your package you must ensure that it is fully insured by your postal service and that it will be signed for on receipt. 

viii. On satisfactory receipt of the returned goods by Kit Miniatures, and if all of the above conditions have been met, we shall then reimburse you for the returned goods and the original delivery costs within fourteen (14) working days.

ix. The cost of returning the goods to us is at your expense.  The only exception is if an items is faulty, or if Kit Miniatures has made an error when sending you your order, in which case we shall refund your return costs on receipt of a copy of your proof of payment.

ii. In compliance with European legislation you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by contacting us with your request.  Our contact information can be found in section 1. "Who are We" of these Terms and Conditions. 

iii. We use the website of trusted, third-party company "Mailchimp" to create and send out our newsletters, and to administer our list of subscribers. Mailchimp is fully compliant with European GDPR legislation and is contactually obliged to store your personal details securely.
